Quotes, Pricing & Booking
How do I get a quote?
Use the quote form, call, or text us at (325) 207-8409. For moves, include both addresses, your date, home size, stairs, and any large items. For junk removal and cleanouts, photos are the fastest way to an accurate price. We usually reply within an hour during business hours.
Are quotes free?
Yes. Quotes are free, with no obligation. We can quote over the phone, from photos or a text, or with an in-person visit for bigger jobs.
Do you charge by the hour or offer flat-rate moving?
Both, depending on the job. Most local moves in Lubbock are billed hourly, while long-distance moves and larger projects may be quoted at a flat rate. We keep pricing straightforward, so you know what to expect before moving day.
Is there a minimum number of hours to book a move?
Yes, there's a one-hour minimum for moving services. After the first hour, time is billed according to the terms of your estimate. Whether it's a few items or a whole household, we're happy to talk through the best option.
Do you require a deposit?
No. You don't need to put down a deposit to book with GRIT.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Cash, Credit and debit cards, Check, Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, Google Pay, Afterpay, and Klarna.
Do you charge more for stairs?
Yes. Stairs take more time and effort, so they're factored into your quote. Tell us about stairs and elevators at both addresses when you request one.
How much do movers cost in Lubbock?
The cost depends on how much you're moving, the distance, access at both addresses (stairs, elevators, long carries), heavy items, and whether you want packing. Because those vary so much, we quote every move individually instead of posting a flat rate.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking about two weeks ahead. End-of-month and summer dates fill first, so book earlier for those. We can sometimes fit in same-day or next-day jobs, so if you're in a pinch, call and ask.
Do you work on weekends?
Yes. We schedule moves and jobs on Saturdays, 8 AM to 4 PM. Our office hours also include Sunday afternoons, 12 to 5 PM.
Moving
Do you provide the moving truck, or do I need to rent one?
We provide our own moving trucks, trailers, equipment, and crews, so you don't need to rent anything. If you already have a rental truck or trailer, we also offer labor-only moving.
Do you move apartments, houses, and offices?
Yes. We move apartments, houses, storage units, offices, and retail spaces. See local moving and commercial moving.
Do you do long-distance and out-of-state moves?
Yes. GRIT holds FMCSA interstate household-goods authority (MC-1816373), so we move customers anywhere in Texas and across state lines. See long distance moving.
Do you take apart and reassemble furniture?
Yes. Disassembly and reassembly of beds, tables, and similar furniture is part of our moving service. We also assemble new furniture. See furniture assembly.
Can you pack for me?
Yes. We offer full, partial, and fragile-only packing, plus unpacking at the new home. When we pack, we typically supply the boxes, packing paper, tape, and other materials. We also sell moving boxes and supplies if you'd rather pack yourself. See packing and unpacking.
How do you protect my furniture and home?
We wrap and pad furniture with moving blankets, plastic wrap, and cardboard, and we use doorjamb protectors so frames don't get scuffed on the way in and out.
Do I need to empty my dresser drawers?
We recommend taking out heavy, fragile, or valuable items. Lightweight clothing can sometimes stay in the drawers, depending on the size, weight, and condition of the dresser, and our crew will tell you what's safest. Emptying drawers ahead of time also makes furniture easier to carry and less likely to be damaged.
What items can't movers transport?
For safety and legal reasons, some items can't go on a household move: firearms, ammunition, explosives, hazardous chemicals, gasoline, and other flammable liquids. There may also be limits on perishable food and some specialty items. Tell us about anything unusual before moving day, and we'll let you know whether it can be moved safely and legally.
Do you offer storage?
No, GRIT doesn't offer storage. We do move belongings into and out of storage units anywhere in the Lubbock area.
I rented my own truck. Can I hire just the movers?
Yes. Our labor-only service covers loading and unloading rental trucks, trailers, and portable containers like PODS.
Do you move heavy items like safes and pianos?
Yes. We've moved 1,000 lb safes, sub-zero refrigerators, pianos, and gym equipment. Tell us what the item is when you request a quote. See heavy item moving.
Can you move furniture within my house?
Yes. See in-home moving for rearranging rooms and moving furniture between floors.

Furniture, mattresses, appliances, electronics, exercise equipment, boxes and household clutter, yard waste, old fencing, remodel debris, and demolished sheds. See junk removal.
Is there anything you can't haul?

Where does the junk go?

Do I need to move my junk to the curb?
No. We pick it up from wherever it is: inside, upstairs, in the garage, or in the backyard.
Do you clean out garages, storage units, and whole houses?
Yes. See garage and storage cleanouts. We also clear entire properties, including rentals between tenants.
